APGA HAS BEEN ENGRAVED IN THE HEARTS OF ANAMBRARIANS THROUGH GOODWILL - Sir Norbert Obi

The state Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Sir Norbert Obi has lampooned the ongoing activities of some political organisations in the state alleged to be a mobilisation of the grassroots for the forthcoming gubernatorial election describing it as "a goose chase" and ridiculous.



Sir Norbert Obi disclosed that the people of Anambra may be experiencing some difficulties but has no regrets for their choice of APGA as the challenges they face are inpeculiar to the state but a national misfortune which has also been effectively managed by the state government better than experienced in other states of the federation. He said that the current administration of Governor Willie Obiano had sustained the legacy of the party which anchors basically about the people's welfare before "politics".

"APGA government has sincerely and effectively managed Anambra state"

"it is an obligation to provide ndi Anambra with good life and good society to live in. In APGA, we do not play politics about that, that is why it is laughable when you see some persons jumping about thinking they can play politics of deceit in Anambra state. 'APGA has been engraved in the hearts of Anambrarians through goodwill' "

Sir Norbert Obi stressed that Anambra is bound to progress and cannot fall back to into the hands of those (PDP) who mismanaged its resources and brought about disgrace to it for many years without any reasonable achievement. An era when salaries came like miracles to families who had prayed for them; when teachers went on strike for over one year; armed robbery, killings and kidnapping were the order of the day? Yet the governments were either insensitive or bereft of ideas...? No way! Anambra cannot not fall back into the hands of the PDP. Issues of kidnapping came and ended with the PDP, the APGA government has been able to eradicate crime, worker's strike and bad infrastructure which were the predicaments inherited from the misrule of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and has effectively managed Anambra state from mockery to the envy of the nation. People who were once ashamed of saying "I am from Anambra state" are now proud to say it because of the type of image the APGA government has secured for the state within the years of its reign.

"On the other hand, when people talk about APC taking over Anambra state, it is not only funny but impossible because the party is still in a dilemma in providing Nigerians with the promised change and their promises of the 2015 general election "

He called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to concentrate on winning the confidence of the people rather than winning elections.

" The APC party should first concentrate on providing better welfare for the highly expectant and suffering Nigerians rather than seeking to win the 36 State governorship seats. Nigerians are suffering, things are getting worse daily and instead of facing issues of governance and seeking better solutions to the problems of the nation, someone is talking about the APC taking over the Anambra state government house."

"Anambrarians are wise people, they have discerning minds and can compare  and contrast to see the much the APGA party has done through its candidates which no other party or their candidates can do for the state"

Sir Norbert also revealed that the APGA government has established a legacy and a leadership blueprint which other states now emulate. This is evident in the numerous awards which the governors had won in exemplary leadership. The past administration under the leadership of Mr Peter Obi was very effective in extinguishing the menace of poor governance and establishing the APGA legacy while the current administration led by Dr Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano has been exceptional also in taking issue of governance to the grassroots; continuing in the APGA legacy, continuing and completing existing projects and as well, commencing new ones across the state.

"Governor Willie Obiano has fulfilled his campaign promises in less than 3 years and has taken governance to the next level thereby further enhancing the confidence of ndị Anambra for the party... These are evident in the numerous recognitions the governor has received within his three years in office. Governor Willie Obiano is the first governor to bag the Sun Governor of the year award, the Zik's Price for Good Governance and the recent Silverbird Man of the year award; all within 3 years in office. I congratulate him for that."

He commended Governor Willie Obiano for the humane policies aimed at poverty alleviation, security of lives and properties as well as infrastructural development and, especially creating palliatives on the effects of the nation's current economic recession on the citizens. "all these he was able to do with less resources".

"APGA has been enculturated amongst the people through sincere leadership and people oriented policies"

"No matter the antics and improvisations, the people of Anambra state are well aware of the risks of loosing the APGA government and the height of the consequences therewith" - Norbert Obi

He emphasized that the APGA party is a collection of devotees for selfless service; people who put selfless service above self satisfaction. It transcends from the founding fathers of the party (like Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu) to the party leadership and its credible style of selecting flag-bearers for elections. It is unlike others where internal rancour, incoherence and conflicting personal interests disrupt governance.

I urge ndị Anambra to be mindful of those who make unrealistic promises during electioneering periods... We must not make a mistake that shall hunt us and our children's future. APGA is the party we have tested and trusted.
